JULY 2009 - FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHY


David Watkin's photography covers a wide spectrum ranging from horrific gore to high fashion.

In a short period since ‘The Dragon and the Chameleon’ was launched Gabriella Gothe (a top UK model) and David Watkins have teamed up to produce many promotional images for fashion designers, retail outlets, prosthetic manufacturers, band albums and posters, calendars and also five books. We are pleased to present several of David's images featuring Gabriella Gothe in our Art and Photography section.

Stephen D. Nadaud has been writing for almost 10 years now. He has dabbled in many genres, including romance/erotica, sci-fi, mystery, slipstream, and of course, horror. Stephen's main influence is Edgar Allan Poe, due to his eloquent writing, tragic life, and uncanny ability to toy with the reader's psyche. He also enjoys the witty pessimism of Mark Twain. Stephen's enjoys video games, collecting comic books and taking care of his various reptiles!

Zachary Freeland Walker was born and raised in Denver Colorado and is currently a senior at the University of Colorado at Boulder studying creative writing. In addition to writing he plays the drums, golfs and enjoys traveling the world. Some of his favorite writers are Neil Gaiman, Max Brooks, Edgar Allan Poe, and H.P. Lovecraft.

Nick Shepherd is an emerging artist from Brisbane, Australia. His work is inspired by Simon Bisley's dark, powerful and gruesome images. In his spare time Nick likes to head butt people, then throw the elbow and kick them in the groin -- he is a martial arts expert!

Alex Granados is a newspaper editor living in Northern Virginia with his two cats Mowgli and Hunter. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 and has worked at his current newspaper ever since. Though he loves journalism, his true passion is fiction writing, and he has been an avid reader and writer since he was a child. His two favorite authors are Phillip K. Dick and Kurt Vonnegut. This is his first published short story.

Julian Cantella is currently a Master’s student in the professional writing program at Carnegie Mellon University. In the last three years, he has edited articles for technical journals, counseled individuals going through bankruptcy, evaluated films and screenplays for an international production company, and scooped Orange Chicken at Panda Express, among other things. His fiction and non-fiction work has appeared in Powder Burn Flash, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The Daily Collegian, and 411mania.

Anna Haney resides in the hills of North Carolina where she farms with her husband. Tourists call her hillbilly, and she is only being polite when she tells them to come on back. Anna is also the Submissions Wrangler for Fantastic Horror Magazine. Her story the Dinner Party can be found in issue#10 of Fantastic Horror and her story The Covet will be included in June’s issue #12 , also In Fantastic Horror.

FEATURED INTERVIEW - JUNE 2009

Horror Bound welcomes author Chris Bauer as he joins us to discuss his debut novel, Scars on the Face of God: The Devil's Bible (Drollerie Press) and the creative process.

Bauer's short fiction has appeared in the crime fiction ezine Thuglit and has been recognized by the National Writers Association, the Writers Room of Bucks County and the Maryland Writers Association. He is currently working on a paranormal mystery called Hop Skip Jump. Read the interview here.
