ISSUE #12 AUTHOR INTERVIEW - RAY GARTON


Ray Garton is the author of over fifty books including popular 1980s horror novel Live Girls and its sequel Night Life. He has also written numerous short stories, novellas and has completed movie novelizations for: Invaders from Mars, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Nightmare on Elm Street 5, and Warlock. Garton received the 2006 World Horror Convention Grand Master Award at the World Horror Convention in San Francisco, placing him in the company of some of horror’s best!

Garret DeChellis is an award winning Illustrator and concept artist. After graduating from Ringling College of Art and Design he moved to St. Petersburg, where he now works as a Digital Illustrator at Creative Arts Inc. Paul Kane began his professional writing career in 1996, providing articles and reviews for news-stand publications (most recently he has worked for The Dark Side, DeathRay, Fangoria, SFX, Dreamwatch and Rue Morgue), and started producing dark fantasy and science fiction stories in 1998. His work has been widely published in many magazines and anthologies on both sides of the Atlantic, – alongside writers such as Ramsey Campbell, Peter Straub and Michael Marshall Smith. Paul is the author of highly acclaimed The Hellraiser Films and Their Legacy.

His story ‘Dead Time’ was developed by Lionsgate/NBC for the US network show Fear Itself. This was adapted by Steve Niles – creator of 30 Days of Night – and Ben Sokolowski of Bad Robot (Lost, Cloverfield) under the title New Year’s Day, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW II-IV), with effects from Oscar-winners KNB (Chronicles of Narnia).

NANCY KILPATRICK is about to introduce you to the “new undead.”

The award-winning writer based in Montreal, Canada, has authored an immense body of work, much of focused on vampires, including 19 published books, over 200 short stories, and five short story collections. She’s received accolades from horror luminaries the likes of Brian Lumley and Poppy Z. Brite, to name but two, and is often cited as Canada’s “literary queen of the undead.”

Stephanie L. Morrell has always been a fan of horror whether it was in films, novels, or short stories. She was fortunate to have played Lucy in a theater production of, Dracula, one of her favorite books. Writing is a great passion of hers and she has completed her first book, Notes From a Vampire. She is currently working hard to get it published, until then; Morrell is writing her second book as well as several new short stories.

Matthew Burgess is currently attending The University of Massachusetts and is working towards a degree in Creative Writing. He has written several novels, the latest an urban fantasy, Leviathion's Touch is currently under consideration. Born in Philadelphia, PA, T.A. Bradley served with the Army Medical Corps during Vietnam as a Clinical Specialist. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology with Master's work in Virology. He has since worked for a number of biotech companies as a virologist.

Bradley is the author of several short stories, with one completed novel and two in the works. Two of his short stories, Weeping Willow and The Progeny have been accepted for publication in Horror in Words magazine. Weeping Willow appeared in their August 09 issue.

Bradd Quinn was born and lives in Rochester, NY. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned a degree in Fine Art Illustration, and a Masters degree in Print Publishing. He's always had the creative arts in his blood, at least that's what his mother always told him...and his therapist. From being absolutely certain he wanted to be a comic strip artist at age 11 (despite his work’s very obvious similarity to Garfield), to political cartoons at 13, to comic books and graphic novels throughout high school, to turntablism and music production, Bradd just always knew he wanted to create.
